  • The Lawns offers guests a large south facing apartment over looking the lake. An enclosed patio area with BBQ and garden furniture, a neat garden and a herb garden, also a large outdoor heater.
  • There are two bedrooms: one large master bedroom and one double bedroom with two single beds. The cottage sleeps up to 5 with room for a cot.
  • All essential kitchen appliances are supplied including dishwasher, washer/dryer, large fridge/freezer. Dining room table and chairs.
  • The lounge a 32" TV and internet connection, cream leather sofas. The lounge has french doors leading onto the patio with beautiful views looking down onto the lawns and fishing lake.
  • All bedlinen and apartment towels are supplied. All utilities and cleaning products also supplied. Full use of the facilities.

We supply a travel cot, toddlers buggy, high chair also a stair gate on request.

The Lawns offers free use of Colmer's superb leisure facilities. These include  indoor heated swimming pool, outdoor heated swimming pool. Tennis court and basket ball net. Fishing lake well stocked with carp golden rudd and now trout. Fitness suite, croquet and boules. A Victorian walled garden with play equipment and plenty of green area for ball games. A natural adventure wooded area.  28 acres of beautiful grounds to stroll around.  Table tennis by the outdoor pool and a childrens' Wendy house and slide.

The Estate has 28 acres of its own beautiful and peaceful private grounds which include full accress to woodlands and meadows. It is wonderfully situated in the heart of the South Hams - an area of outstanding natural beauty. Their are many beautiful beaches; Bigbury and Burgh Island,  Salcombe, Dartmouth, and Blackpool Sands which is a blue flag beach. All around is unspoilt countryside, lovely villages with good family walks and country pubs. 

On this 28 acres Estate of meadows woods and wetlands you can find many peaceful spots where you can read, doze or picnic. The Estate is also home to a variety of wildlife - badgers, foxes rabbits and deer. Ducks and lovely Birds. Bring along your camera for wildlife snaps. If you like to paint this is a perfect retreat. This is a wonderful holiday for families with young children or teenagers. The Estate is absolutely fabulous plus there are so many fun places to visit. Bantham Thurlestone and Hope Cove have the most fabulous coastal NT walks you can see for miles. The South Devon coast is perfect for sailing, windsurfing and body boarding and other water sports, whilst also providing safe sandy beaches for families.

There is a local shop and a good Inn serving both bar meals and resturant meals within easy walking distance.

Woodlands is just a few miles away a wonderful day out Pennywell Farm a must with small children.

Dartmour with its sweeping moors and hidden valleys just a short ride inland away.

Kingsbridge market town is just a short drive away. Kingsbridge has many good resturants and pubs. The town has a band stand by the estuary where there  is often live music, it's lovely to just sit outside the Creek Inn and listen and watch the entertainment

If you like a round of golf, Dartmouth is near by also Bigbury on Sea.

The self-catering accommodation is in an elegant apartment in a large Georgian house with a lawned garden. The apartment has a master bedroom and a double bedroom with two single beds also a flat screen 32" TV in the second bedroom to sleep up to 5 people.

Surrounded by rolling countryside, the Colmer Country Estate in Modbury near Kingsbridge is ideally situated for guests wishing to visit this area of outstanding natural beauty in the south Hams. The South Devon Beaches, Dartmoor and all the attractions this beautiful, unspoilt part of the country has to offer. This is an area of dramatic cliff-top and coastal walks, hidden valleys, sweeping moors and quiet sandy coves to explore at your own pace. The nearest beaches are Bigbury, Bantham, Thurlestone and Hope Cove. Many other seaside resorts and towns within easy driving distance such as Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes and Plymouth. Torbay is a touch further but still possible.

Good places to visit: Explore Devon, it's small enough to allow for day trips anywhere in Devon or even a trip to the Eden Project in Cornwall is not out of the question. It takes about 2 hours by car to get to the Eden Project.

Good places to eat: Just a short walk away you will find the California County Inn which provides delicious meals, also close to hand are excellent places to eat in the pubs at Avonwick - Ugborough and Moreleigh.

Local Sports: 28 acres of private grounds; grass lawns, woodland, wild flower meadows. Coarse fishing is available on the private lake, which is stocked with large Carp and Golden Rudd. You can always find plenty of walks in the grounds. Horse riding available.
