Wilsham House is located in Devon, close to the North Devon Coast, just a few miles from the Somerset border, sleeps 14 plus and is situated in the most glorious countryside on Exmoor. The approach to the farm overlooks Exmoor, Lynton and the sea, and the South West Coastal path is just a stroll away, linked by a foot path which runs through part of the farm. Set in 80 acres this Self Catering Cottage is found at the end of a single track lane and has its own separate entrance. There is ample parking for cars and the views of Exmoor from the cottage are stunning looking out across the fields and woods and down to the Lyn River

Set in 80 acres this Self Catering Cottage is found at the end of a single track lane and has its own separate entrance. There is ample parking for cars and the views of Exmoor from the cottage are stunning looking out across the fields and woods and down to the Lyn River. The holiday cottage is sited on three floors with the entrance being on the middle floor. On this floor is the dining room with large pine table and views into the garden, and across the fields. Next to the dining room is the spacious living room with ample sofa’s and chairs for everyone to sit down and relax and there is a hi fi system, Sky TV and DVD player . There is also a large wood burning stove for those cold winter nights. French doors open from the sitting room onto the patio area with picnic table which looks across the fields. The fully fitted kitchen overlooks the lawned gardens and Wilsham Wood which slopes down to the river. The kitchen is equipped with large fridge freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher, electric cooker and oil fired Rayburn. There is also a Dualit toaster, Kitchen Aid food mixer, and separate blender, microwave and kitchen scales. Also on this middle floor is one double bedroom with king size bed and a bathroom next door.
On the lower floor are two stunning bedrooms. The tulip room has a king size double bed and delightful en-suite shower room, with magnificent picture window enabling you to lie in bed and look out across the lawns where the wild red deer come to graze each morning. The blue room is a slightly larger room with two large picture windows with the same magnificent views down to Wilsham Wood and the River beyond and has a luxury king size 4 poster bed and en-suite shower room.
On the top floor there are two more double bedrooms, the cottage room with king size sleigh bed, and gorgeous views out across the fields where the wild deer and the horses share the same fields. The bathroom is next door and the second double room also has a king size bed. In addition there is a large occasional room with four single beds which is also on this upper floor together with another shower room

Enjoy a walk over the farm to join the coastal path with its spectacular cliffs and abundant Exmoor wildlife, or stroll down to the river and watch the otters in the valley and continue along the path to Watersmeet and Lynton. Instead you can take a short drive to enjoy the Somerset village of Porlock and it’s delightfully small harbour, or extend the trip to include some of the Devon coastal sites of Lynton, Lynmouth, Woolacombe, Croyde and the magnificent beach of Saunton Sands. Alternatively travel inland to take advantage of the wonders of the Exmoor National Park. Visit the sites of Tarr steps the well known clapper bridge over the river Barle, the historic town of Dunster and the castle, Dulverton, with its variety of individual shops, Exford, the centre of the moor, and closer to home Dunkery Beakon, the highest place on the moor, and the romantic Lorna Doone country, Oare, and Malmsmead.

Good places to visit: Railways. From steam, narrow gauge, model or spectacular cliff Exmoor has it all! There is narrow gauge at Lynton, Barnstable and Woody Bay, the Cliff Railway at Lynton and Lynmouth and the steam railway along the coast from Minehead to Taunton at West Somerset Railway. The model railway is on the way out of Lynmouth – a good place for both the enthusiast and the visitor
Annual Events: Too many to list each but a popular one is Food on Exmoor The Exmoor Food Festival takes place in October and is the show case for all that is good about food and drink on Exmoor. There are events staged all around the region www.exmoorfoodfestival.co.uk Water Sports. The North Devon Coast is a mecca for all water sports enthusiasts. Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton and Putsborough being some of the most popular beaches. It is possible to check the daily conditions via www.eyeball-surfcheck.co.uk or www.surfsouthwest.com Wimberball lake for fresh water sailing and windsurfing. . The river Barle and Exe for canoeists if you are interested we can put you in touch with the local canoe club.
