Longbridge House - Honiton,

Eight miles from Lyme Regis, Longbridge House is a former 19th century coaching inn, which has been transformed into a fantastic, self-catering holiday house for big groups with children. It has the sort of heated indoor pool that will have the children reaching for their cossies before you’ve even unpacked the car.

The grown-ups will also appreciate the inglenook fireplaces and wood burners, the sleek stone floors, oak doors, window seats and other period features. There’s a games room with a pool table and table football, and lots to do locally, including the beach.

Lovers of local produce will be spoilt for choice when it comes to cooking, and can potter around farmers’ markets to their hearts’ content. There are also plenty of village pubs and restaurants for meals out.

Accommodation

  • The shared rooms include a large dining room, a morning room, the games room with its large leather sofas and a very cosy snug with a woodburner where you can curl up on the window seat or on the sofa with a book or in front of a film.
  • The large farmhouse kitchen has a four-oven Aga, twin fridges and the usual freezer, dishwasher, regular oven etc. A door opens from the dining room onto a walled kitchen garden.
  • The Eight bedrooms are all large, with ensuite bathrooms.
  • The piece de resistance is the swimming pool, which is large, warm, and roughly keyhole-shaped, with its own shower room.

Other facilities include wireless broadband, a boot room, a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, sink and loo, Freeview and a stereo system.
