Robert and Mandy are proud to welcome you to their four luxurious, newly converted stone barns. Hembury Court is situated on their organic farm in East Devon, on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, five miles from the M5 and one mile from the famous thatched village of Broadhembury. Set in a tranquil location it is an ideal place to get away from it all, yet not far from the coast, Dartmoor and Exmoor. The four cottages are superbly converted barns providing everything you will need for a relaxing country break. Group Facilities:

Two large, green oak structures provide excellent group facilities. The new ' Oak Cruck' barn with its well equipped kitchen and toilet facilities provides a stunning setting for a family gathering or a party of friends if the complex is booked by one group. It is equipped with oak tables and comfortable dining chairs to seat up to twenty five. The newly built South Oak Centre comprises of a large, south facing, green oak structure. With its' stunning views, large amount of glazing and comfortable chairs, it provides a spacious lounge/ conference area.

Pockets - sleeps 2 
Named after the family bear, this delightful cottage nestles between Poppy's and Smart's House. Upstairs the bedroom is spacious and light displaying superb craftsmanship in the oak features. The bed can be either a superking double or twin beds. Ensuite with large shower, washbasin and W.C.

Poppy's - sleeps 4
Poppy was a well loved family pet rabbit. Poppy's is nestled between Clew Park and Pockets.  Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with a superking double that can be converted to twin 3' beds. The shower room is shared and fitted with a large shower, WC and washbasin.

Smart's House - sleeps 5 
Smart was the last carthorse on the farm and this was her home. This welcoming cottage is next to Pockets and overlooks the duck pond. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and a large room with three full size single beds. The shower room is shared and is fitted with a large shower, W.C and washbasin.Downstairs the large living area leads through French Windows onto a delightful patio. This is an ideal house for a family wanting plenty of space. 

Clew Park - Sleeps 6 
This delightful cottage looks out towards the field it is named after. The downstairs bedroom, which can either be a superking double or twin 3' beds, has French windows leading out onto a private stone terrace which overlooks the tranquil countryside. The wet room next door has handles near the basin and toilet with plenty of room for a wheelchair. The two bedrooms upstairs share a shower room with large shower, WC and washbasin. One room contains twin 3' beds and the other can either be a superking double or twin 3' beds.

  • Seaside- the South Coast, Sidmouth, Beer, Seaton, and the famous Jurassic Coast is only 15 miles away.
  • National Trust - many properties can be found nearby including Killerton, Knightshayes Court and A La Ronde
  • Restaurants and Pubs - we are fortunate to have an abundance of good places to eat and drink in the area- one within walking distance
  • Honiton - a bustling market town renowned for its antique shops and lace, plus the quaint thatched village of Broadhembury
  • Cullompton with an interesting church with a fine painted rood screen and unique Golgotha
  • Adventure Parks - Crealy is exciting and well run
  • Donkey Sanctuary - Of world renown is close by
  • Dartmoor and Exmoor easily accessible

Travel: Honiton - rail 5 miles, Exeter - air

Good places to visit: Dartmoor and Exmoor for walks on the wildside.

Annual Events: Tar Barrels at Ottery St Mary on November 5th is a world famous and unique experience.

Good places to eat: A wealth of good local pubs/restaurants. We test them out regularly so that we feel able to recommend them.

Local Sports: Horse riding, golf, gliding, land rover experience, fishing nearby.

Honiton

The market town of Honiton is well known for its famous lace making museum and abundance of antique shops. With it's two street markets a week (Tuesday and Saturday) and plenty of coffee shops it is easy to see why people break their journey further south west here and then decide to stop longer next time!

The quaint surrounding villages are worth visiting and the Tourist Information offiice in the Lace Walk car park will be pleased to provide details of walks/cycle routes as well as local accommodation........your problem will be choosing as you will be spoilt for choice.
