South Beer - Holsworthy,

Wonderful, character Victorian Farmhouse, at the heart of Beer Mill Nature Trails, stands within its own half acre garden, protected by mature shrubs, fruit bushes and hedgerows, overlooking the Claw Valley and open farmland and only 12 miles from sandy and surf beaches of the North Cornwall coast, 20 minutes from Roadford lake and half an hour from either Dartmoor or Bodmin Moor.

South Beer Farmhouse (awaiting Visitbritain grading ), has been lovingly restored, retaining all its character and charm (original doors and window sills some now stripped, wooden floorboards and Victorian tiled hall, high ceilings, slate fireplace, inglenook fireplace with clome oven) while providing guests with all modern creature comforts (central heating, high quality furniture, fittings and decor, 42" flat screen TV/dvd, extra TV in sitting room 2,  fully fitted equipped solid oak kitchen with A grade Miele appliances and electric range cooker. South Beer sleeps up to 10 people (plus cot) in the following accommodation: 2 double rooms, 2 twin bedrooms (1 with single sofabed for extra child), upstairs bathroom with overbath shower and toilet. Downstairs - lounge, separate dining room, second sitting room which can be used as 5th bedroom (with quality John Lewis double sofabed), kitchen, utility area, laundry/shower/toilet.

Solar panels, green tariff electricity, new high efficiency double glazed windows throughout, maximum insulation and planning for PV electricity generation all hope to provide maximum comfort for guests and a serious commitment to caring for our environment.

Wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers have free access to Beer Mill Nature Trails from the garden gate - 3 interconnected, waymarked trails through a private wildlife sanctuary with ponds, wildlife hide, woodland and open pasture. Sports and outdoor enthusiasts will all find something to please on the doorstep of South Beer from a range of local golf courses to all types of fishing, horse riding to mountainbiking, mountainboarding to walking, surfing off the North Cornwall coast to sailing on the safe inland waters of Roadford lake. Enthusiasts of the armchair/deck chair will be completely at home any time of year at South Beer - beside the cosy log burner in the winter or lounging in the sunny south facing garden in the summer with only the buzzing of the insects and sheep in the meadows around the house to send you to sleep. Christmas and New Year are available as weekly bookings only. Weekend minimum stay 3 nights. Mid-week short breaks 2 nights.
