Enjoy the best of the west country from this comfortable period holiday home in unspoilt rural surroundings. Located on the edge of the North Devon village of Hartland, Gorrans Down Cottage is a delightful 12th Century thatched cottage. There are panoramic views out to sea towards Lundy Island. The property is suitable for up to nine people, with four bedrooms (one double, one family room, one with bunk beds and one single) and an additional single fold up bed. A family bathroom serves all your ablutions. This country cottage is spacious enough to give every member of the family some personal space. A well-equipped fitted kitchen, large dining room and a spacious sitting room (both with woodburners) ensure your continuing comfort. One well behaved dog welcome. Off road parking is available for two cars. Outside the cottage a lawned garden with outdoor furniture provides al fresco dining opportunities and an antique railway carriage converted into a quirky summerhouse makes for a fun play area. The cottage is just two miles from the coast and within easy reach of Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks. With a host of attractions to discover, Gorrans Down Cottage is bound to provide a holiday to remember.

The cottage has efficient gas central heating, additional heating from woodburners in sitting and dining rooms. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, colour TV, DVD. Library of books and DVDs. All fuel and power included in the rent. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. There is private parking space for 2 cars. Enclosed lawned garden to front and rear with garden furniture. One well behaved dog is most welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 10 minutes' walk. Please Note: Water is from a private supply, and is operated by an electric water pump. Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

The village of Hartland provides visitors with a craft shop, good pubs and several places to eat. The village of Clovelly lies just 5 miles away and is renowned for its steep cobbled streets and 14th Century harbour. The unspoilt coastal resorts of Bude and Bideford are both within 15 miles making this a superb base for a varied and enjoyable holiday.
