Reuben’s Roost, Bremen’s Barn, Hope’s Hideaway and Purdy’s Place sleep 7, 9, 8 and 5 respectively (5-29), and are highly commended Grade 11 listed 4 star barn conversations that are situated in the Beautiful Peak National Park. Nestling between the magnificent valleys of Dovedale and the Manifold Rivers and surrounded by National Trust land, you only need to walk out of the front door to experience some of the finest walks around. The National Trust Park of Ilam and both rivers are only a short walk away and Alton Towers and the country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are only a short drive away. Lower Damgate farm for get away breaks, family holidays, gatherings, special events or relaxing weekends the cottages are ideal and fitted out to a very high standard with beautiful furnishings, latest technology, luxury fittings, and antiques. Outside there are individual decking areas with garden furniture and barbeques. There is a mown paddock for games and 20 acres of farm grounds that you are welcome to use. We have pet sheep, ducks, and chickens and during lambing time the children often help feed the lambs. Dogs welcome

Lower Damgate Farm, Dovedale, sleeping up to 30 lies within one of the most beautiful areas of England situated in the south of the Peak District National Park. We are not your typical event venue but pride ourselves on offering you a venue with a difference. Rural, accessible, and surrounded by stunning scenery we have a perfect setting for any event.Hire includes all of the accommodation in award winning 4 star cottages. 20 acres of grounds can accommodate up to 150 guests on the day, in either your own Marquee or our farm barn. Hire is on a DIY basis though we can either help you to organise your event or provide details of local suppliers from tipi’s to caterers or even a hot air balloon. It is important for us that our venue is right for you and we welcome a site visit before booking. The ambience of the property speaks for itself.

Chatsworth house, Alton Towers, Haddon House, Bakewell, Ashbourne. The National Trust Park of Ilam and both the Dovedale and Manifold rivers are a short walk away. Children will enjoy crossing the Dovedale River using the stepping stones. This part of the Derbyshire Peak District is famous for caves - visit Pooles Cavern in Buxton, Speedwell and The Blue John Mines.
Travel: Derby 20 miles Manchester East midlands 35 miles
Good places to visit: Visit the factory shops for Wedgwood, Spode and Royal Doulton potteries. Matlock and Matlock Bath provide many tourist attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom, the Heights of Abraham and outlet factory shopping. Anyone with an interest in railways would enjoy the Churnet Valley Railway and Darley Dale Railway where Thomas the Tank engine regularly visits. Crich Tramway Museum is aanother favourite for the male sex of all ages. Alton Towers with all the delights of the fair is another good place for a day's outing.
Annual Events: There is a myriad of events in Derbyshire and the Peak District. Visit Chatsworth at Christmas for a festive treat. Well dressings during the summer for a traditional Derbyshire event.
Good places to eat: There are tea shops and friendly pubs locally and in surrounding Peak District villages.
Local Sports: Walking, caving, pony trekking, sailing, rock climbing and abseiling at a number of sources in the Peak Park. Longnor and Wirksworth have their own climbing walls.
Ilam is a NT village nestling on the Manifold and Dove Rivers in the White Peak Area of the Peak District Nation Park. It is one of the most visited and beautiful villages in England.
