The Tamar Valley is a place associated with holidays and offers lots of things for families to do and see. Go cycling along a traffic free cycle track, visit the Hidden Valley Discovery Park with its miniature railway and maze, take a boat cruise along the Tamar, go for a nature trek in the countryside, ride a steam train with Launceston Steam railway, enjoy days out on the beach at the coast.

The town of Callington is famous for making Cornish pasties that are sold all around Cornwall, for its mural trail that depicts life through the centureis in Callington and the honey fair which is held on the first Wednesday in October each year. The fair is large, with over 100 stalls and raises money for charity.

Another date holidaymakers may wish to note is Callington Carnival in mid July which usually features the town band.

Callington is a historic town that once relied on tin mining. Many miners emigrated when mining collapsed as an industry in the area, leaving behind a heritage of disused workings dotted about the countryside and a number of period buildings in the town. The Coachmakers's Arms pub continues to serve drinks. Church Street may interest people who like to see period buildings.
