With luxury self-catering accommodation you can expect high quality, spacious accommodation with high standards of cleanliness and hospitality. The decor should be attractive and furnishings comfortable. When it comes to décor, questions of style arise. Luxury accommodation can include a range of styles from chintz and traditional to modernist and this is where the cottage photographs are vital. It is too easy to make a quick decision and regret it later. Do spend some time looking at interior photographs carefully and comparing the details. It sometimes helps to make a list of what you consider must haves on holiday and compare them with your shortlist of luxury holiday rentals. A coffee maker is essential to some people but not all.
High quality luxury accommodation is only a part of your self catering break, albeit an important part if reality does not meet expectation. Do discuss your needs with the cottage owners before placing a booking to get a feel for the level of communication and hospitality that you can expect.
