This event is hosted at the height of summer in July. It has become well established and known, especially in Poland, over a thirty year period. The folk music may be central to the festival but it's accompanied by poetry readings, dance, cultural exhibitions, organised trips and parades. It's a must for anyone visiting Zakopane at that time of year.

Bus fare into Krakow is just 9 zl each way (takes just over an hour), much less to Zakopane.
