no need to be bored in South Woodham Ferrers, a whole variety of clubs and societies are
waiting to welcome you with open arms. Your main problem will be in deciding what to join
and how to find the time to do it. In this section you will find social, hobby and arts clubs. Sports clubs

The
South Woodham Ferrers University of the 3rd Age (U3A)
The U3A is an umbrella organisation for a collection of interest groups for the older retured or semi-retired people in the town. A monthly meeting is held in Champion's Manor Hall on the first Wednesday of every month in the afternoon between 2 pm and 4 pm.
SWF Flower Arranging Club
Meets on the first Wednesday of
each month (except August) in the WI Hall in Hullbridge Road, at 7.40 p.m. for 8.00
p.m. Different demonstrator are invited to inspire members to new feats of
creativity and imagination, followed by a raffle and tea. Members of all ages are invited.
The annual membership was £7.00 (£6.00 for OAPs) in 2001.
60 Plus Club
Meet new friends and enjoy a game of bingo, a
ploughman's lunch or a day out. The club meets every Monday from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00
p.m. at the WI Hall in Hullbridge Road (almost opposite Pertwee Rd). Call 320088 for

Village Hall Whist Club
Meets in the small hall at the back of the
Village Hall on Monday evenings, 7.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m., and on Wednesday afternoons at
2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
SWF Rotary Club
A men's club with a highly visible presence in
South Woodham Ferrers. They are best known for the Christmas sleigh charity
collection and for organising the annual fireworks display. Join this club if you really
want to make a difference in the community.

Essex Ladies Friendship and
Social group
This group
of ladies meets on a Wednesday at 2.pm in the Oakland Hotel for
coffee and a chat. There is a wide age range (mainly
over 50s) and we and enjoy outings, social events and meals
out together. Please phone 01245 325273 if you would like
to come along. Events in spring 2005 included: cinema
nights, meals out, treasure hunt, games night, dog racing etc.

Woodham Ferrers Camera Club We are a local camera club for everyone interested in Photography both
traditional and digital.
SWF Bereavement Support
Group Not a club as
such, but a group organised and run by the staff at Paul King's
funeral director's to provide support for anyone who has suffered a
bereavement. The bereaved have the opportunity of sharing
their experiences with others at regular meetings. The
meetings are held every Tuesday at 10.00 am. - 12.00 noon in the
Meeting Room at the Holy Trinity Church. If you would like to
