Luxury
pine lodges in Powys, Wales
Suran-Y-Coed
our Scandinavian Finlodge set in its own fenced grounds near a babbling
stream. Look out for the buzzards or kites flying over head and
listen to the little owls at night. Great views of the surrounding
hills and natural woodlands that shelter this private valley.

About Powys
and the local area:
Guests are
welcome to explore the farm and take in the stunning views of Radnor
Forest, the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and even the Malverns
on a clear day. We have a pool which is well stocked with brown
trout, and fly fishing is available at a daily rate. Coarse fishing
is available at the nearby Pen-y-Clawdd Pools.
Our local town,
Knighton, is seven miles away. Known in Welsh as 'Tref-y-Clwdd'
- 'The Town On the Dyke' is the half way point of Offa's Dyke long
distance footpath. We often accommodate walkers who are traversing
and also Glyndwr's Way, which runs crosses Wales from Knighton to
Machynlleth, and passes through farm.
Activities
close by include clay pigeon shooting, rally driving at the renowned
Phil Price Rally School and half or full day rides at Underhill
Riding Stables, allowing you to experience our area on horseback.
Other local towns include Presteigne, the former county town of
Radnorshire and home of the fascinating Judge's Lodging Museum,
Hay-on-Wye, the world's secondhand book centre and host to the Hay
Literary Festival every May, and Llandrindod Wells, the original
Welsh spa town with a proud Victorian heritage which is brought
to life every year at the end of August with the Victorian Festival.
There's plenty
of scope for exploring the peaceful countryside of Mid Wales. Nearby
Radnor Forest has hundreds of miles of tracks and is an excellent
area for energetic mountain bikers to be let loose. Further afield
- about 20 miles distant - is the Elan Valley, a large area of uplands
and valleys with a system of reservoirs and Victorian dams.
