South Woodham Ferrers is 11 miles away from Chelmsford, 30 minutes from Southend and within travelling distance of London and Cambridge for a day trip. The house features an open-plan lounge cum kitchen, utility room and a ground floor toilet. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom. A neat gravel garden is outside. Tythe Barn Cottage, built in 1642 is tucked away in the tranquil North Cotswold village of Ebrington. The cottage is built of traditional Cotswold stone and has a thatched roof and many of the original features, including an inglenook fireplace.
The cottage has been recently refurbished with a new bathroom and kitchen. It has two bedrooms, one with a double bed - the other has two single beds. The Stable. Formerly used for cider-making and stabling working horses, this thoughtfully converted 200-year old detached cottage features a wealth of splendid elm timbering. Located on a working farm, it's cosy and comfortable with oil-fired central heating, electricity, linen and towels provided.

A truly beautiful bungalow for a supremely comfortable August holiday, Powys
The Swan House is a 4 bedroom bungalow in a country setting in the Welsh Marches - it sleeps up to 8 people. A special self-catering property - it's interior has been designed by the renowned decorator Penny Morrison.
There are two double bedrooms with king-size beds and two twin bedrooms with single beds, all beds having their own custom made bed heads with Egyptian cotton bed linen, goose down pillows and luxury quilts.
There is an oil-fired Rayburn in the fully fitted kitchen which opens to a light and sunny dining room/conservatory. The location is just off Offa's Dyke which is popular with walkers and historians. The towns of Presteigne, Knighton and Kington lie within a six mile radius of the Swan House. Each town has a traditional High Street with local butchers, greengrocers, bakers, cafes and pubs. It is 30 minutes to Hay-on-Wye (UK book centre with literary festivals), Ludlow (delightful Marches town and epicurean centre) and Hereford (Cathedral city), and 25 minutes to Leominster (antique centre). All fascinating towns to stroll around and explore. Enjoy lovely white beaches with big waves at Borth, a scenic one and a quarter hour drive west. The highest golf course in England is just outside Kington with photogenic views of seven counties from its summit.

Sunnybak House on the west of Ireland - fabulous for holidays in August
Sunnybank House is a nineteenth century Period House of immense character whose history is part of the history of Clifden Town itself. It is uniquely situated in its own mature gardens yet only 100 meters from Clifden town centre. A lovely house for families or extended groups - it can sleep uo 17 people.
The Drawing room is the main room in the House, adorned with paintings and antique furnishings. The gracious room is made intimate by its large roaring turf fire around which friendships are made and stories are told as visitors relax and drink tea or read a book in the evenings.
The bedrooms are all individually decorated with a combination of antiques and modern day conveniences such as tv, direct dial telephones, central heating, large Kingsized orthpaedic beds where possible and ensuite bathrooms. There is a selection of excellent visitor attractions in the area including the largest antiques centre in Essex, an open farm and country park, sailing, a butterfly farm and playpark, RHS Hyde Hall gardens, and the Essex coast - Southend-on-Sea is only half an hour's drive away. Southend has a centennial Carnival this year during August with floats, competitions, a spectacular firework display and many other events.
