Hollybush House has direct access to the river

Sleeps:  8 in 2 double ensuite and 2 twin bedrooms

About Holly Bush House

Hollybush was newly constructed and equipped to a high standard in order to offer quality self-catering holiday accommodation ready for the 2001 season.

The property is located in the countryside close to the village of Carron, the site having been specially chosen for its uninterrupted view over the river Spey. There is direct access from the house to the riverbank making it especially suited to those who are fishing or visitors who just enjoy relaxing by the river watching fish jump and the water meandering over the rocks. While no fishing is included there are private walks along the riverbank for approximately 1 mile. In addition there are numerous other walks and routes for easy cycling in the vicinity.

Hollybush is a spacious property with 4 large bedrooms, 2 or which are en-suite. They are furnished as two double and two twin bedrooms. In addition, there is a bathroom and a further toilet making the house suited to more than one family. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a range of equipment including oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. There is also a freezer, washing machine and drier in a separate utility room.

The dining room has a large farmhouse table, which can comfortably seat 8 adults. The house has full central heating and also an open fire in the large lounge where there is a television and video.

Facilities

All bedding and towels are included and there is sufficient crockery and cutlery for 8 people. The house is set facing west towards the river which gets the best of the evening sunshine. There is a generously sized area to the front with a picnic table. For those with bicycles or fishing tackle there is a lockable garage in which to keep such equipment. Pets will not be allowed.

Directions

Carron is located in the North East corner of Scotland approximately 50 miles from Aberdeen and Inverness. It is also easily accessible from the major cities of Edinburgh or Glasgow both being about 3 hours drive away.

Speyside

Speyside is home to the whisky industry and Hollybush is located in the midst of the whisky trail with numerous distilleries within easy access many of which are open to visitors. In addition there are a variety of other attractions in the area including the famous Baxters of Speyside and Walkers shortbread of Aberlour. For those interested in golf, there are some excellent courses in the area operated by Moray Council Leisure dept. which can be played at reasonable daily rates.

While there are no amenities in the village of Carron, Aberlour is only 4 miles away and has a range of shops, hotels, pubs and a restaurant.

Aberlour can be easily reached by walking or cycling along the Speyside Way (the old railway line which has been turned into a path stretching for over 40 miles between Spey Bay and Aviemore).

For those visiting during the winter all three Scottish ski resorts are within easy travelling distance. There is just as much to do at this time of year as during the summer months.

Speyside and the surrounding area is blessed with beautiful varied scenery from heather clad hills with fields of cattle and sheep to fertile agricultural plains with barley ripening in the summer sunshine for making into whisky.

What ever the time of year you will almost certainly be amazed at the host of wildlife and the range of colours in the countryside.

Habitats and views change quickly in a relatively short distance from the high hills of Glenlivet to the sandy beaches at Lossiemouth.
