How much does it cost?

Quotes will be provided for larger sites on request, but estimate about £80 per page.

Extras

Once you have a web site designed for you, you then need to host it on a server online, maintain it and advertise it.

You may also obtain a unique domain name or address (.co.uk, .com) to use with a web site, but this is not essential if you host it on the Country Cottages Online web site. We will be happy to arrange this for you.

Fast and reliable hosting

Hosting describes the lodging of your web pages on a special computer online so that it is available to all web surfers 24 hours a day.

We offer free hosting on our site for a one page brochure that we design when your cottages are also advertised with us.

Hosting for websites with their own domain names or addresses can be arranged from £65 per year whether we design them or not. Statistics to keep you informed of the number of visitors that your site receives are included.

Ultra fast hosting on servers that work in tandem to always keep a copy of your site online even if one goes down costs an extra £30 + VAT.

FrontPage Extensions cost an extra £20 +VAT

Search Engine Submission

Many popular search engines like MSN, Yahoo, Alta-Vista, Looksmart, Mamma etc. now charge for submission to their search engine. It’s rather like having an entry in a yellow pages directory. This cost can be avoided by hosting a one page web brochure with us but not for independent web sites which must be submitted separately. Search engine submission can be arranged if required.

Advertising and Promotion

Once you have a web site, you will have a web address to use on any advertising , both online or in printed publications. Even if a page is hosted with us, it will have a web address, e.g. www.countrycottagesonline.com/Grampian/Hollybush/

We offer an online advertising service where your cottage can be found by county in an online database, promoted in special feature pages like Romantic Country Cottages, Fishing, Good for walking, Historic, Large Country Houses etc.

By advertising with us, your cottage web site will be able to be found in all the major search engines irrespective of whether you have submitted your site to each one separately or not.

Your cottage will also be included in an electronic brochure that people can download to view offline on their own computers. Selected pages can be printed and shared with friends by email.  

This advertising service costs £125  per year (2008) and includes the following:

• Entry in online database with link to own web site
• A paragraph in up to 4 Feature pages
• Use of Late Availability and Seasonal pages for additional promotion on request

Updating your cottage entry

You will be able to login and update your cottage record and images at any time and as often as you wish.
